Parking Meters


  • 2,800 parking meters are in the city of Spokane.
  • PARKING METERS:  Parking meters are in operation from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, except on the following holidays (and on the Monday following, or the Friday preceding said holidays where designated a national holiday for observance):

Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday
President's Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day (Fourth of July)
Labor Day
Columbus Day
Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

SUNDAYS:  Parking meters are FREE.  However all Commercial Loading Zones, Passenger Loading Zones, and other parking violations are enforced as necessary.

NOTE:  2014:  Parking at downtown meters is FREE after 7 pm.

RATES for metered parking is...
$1.20/hour for a 2-hour parking meter.   
$ . 80/hour for a 4-hour parking meter.
$ .40/hour for a 12-hour (all day) parking meter. 
(Spokane no longer has any meters designated 30-minute or 1 hour)

  • PARKING TICKETS.  For questions or information on parking tickets, please contact the Municipal Court at: (509) 625-4400.
  • DISABLED PARKING.  Designated "Disabled Parking" stalls are enforceable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even if some or all of the adjacent businesses might be closed. Disabled Parking violations carry a $450.00 fine.

    A disabled person who displays a disabled license plate or placard hanging from their mirror, may park in any "normal" stall for FREE.

    A disabled person who parks in a stall designated for the disabled which displays a "blue sticker" and "4-hours only," may ONLY park there for FREE for 4 hours.  Parking at this blue-stickered meter beyond the 4 hours requires paying a normal parking fee.  The driver may, however, move the car to another stall.
